|This piece grew from the strong aluminum base with three steel “feet” and transitions to four graceful steel arcs, drawn together and upward.|
The wind moves the red accents and creates the slight chiming
The solid, round arcs were cut from their former format, a circle, where they had held together a huge wooden water tank. Now they face outward, into space.
There was some work-around-planning for joining: welding steel rods to steel tabs in the aluminum base. I put in a stainless steel center pole for stability.
I suspended the chimes and red acrylic wind catchers, to create a pleasing visual and auditory presence. I added plastic accents, threaded on a small rod.
I sense elegance and playfulness in this sculpture. It is a welcome, unique creation for the garden.
