| My earliest art making was  making figurative sculptures & watercolor paintings. 
 I was deeply influenced by my daily commute through the sensuousness hills, between western Petaluma and the coast.
 
I have kept an  abstract watercolor of this scene from that series of work.
 
The original bronze sculpture sold. But I had made a mold from that, to cast it in more affordable material, cast stone (cement).
 Both the painting  and the figure reflect the flow of the landscape. A very good mutual influence for my purposes. |
