I had 5 pieces of the large arc with a bracket and a short leg. I wanted to create a basket-like shape without the verticals touching.
I used splicing to modify these arcs. I lengthened the legs for more height, and added spirals to the tops.
After several possible bases were tried, I was happy with the 5 holed heavy, decorative auto part.
The tough part was engineering the open space and the positions of the arcs with each other at the top of this “air basket”.
The sound made by striking any one of these is very pleasant.
This piece had many aspects that are exceptional. Wonderful to display in a garden setting. |
