This attractive abstract sculpture draws the eye in several ways. It suggests an upward motion, a joyful gesture. The transparent red acrylic bands draw the light and echo this gesture. It seems to express a feminine aesthetic.
Because I built it up from a base that has three legs, the groupings of elements follow that pattern of threes. The base contains the arcs and supports their vertical position. It holds three sets of three patterns in an upward position.
The elements in these sets are steel rods, gently arced; slightly curved strips of red acrylic and the very
curvy spiral tipped rods that I spliced together.
I welded both kinds of steel rods to the base, and trapped the acrylic strips deep within the tube of the central support.
This unique creation brings these elements together in an uplifting sculpture that can live outside or in. |
