This simple sculpture is about clarity, space, and simplicity.
I was asked to create a multi level totem for the show at Quercia Gallery.
I chose to use clear glass and acrylic with rusty metal from my treasures. I wanted to
create a sense of empty space in the places between the metal layers. I really enjoyed the challenge and planning this involved.
I got to use one of my favorite “found objects”: a blue, rusted, foldable, camping stove. This became the light weight base.
I like the subtle reflections on the clear surfaces.
Thinking of the empty mind, I named it for the sense of nothingness it generates. |
