This sculpture celebrates circles, one of my favorite shapes.
The angular look of the base and “wings” make a nice contrast here. The scale and proportions enhance the relationships within the piece.
I selected the triangular plow for the base. I assembled the smaller ring and gear onto the base. Then I attached the side supports to it, carefully planning the spacing to fit larger ring. I welded these top parts on last. The “wings” had been right and left directional plow tips.
I like the way the lines and negative space direct the energy and eye in this piece.
This unique creation shows well inside as well as outside. |
