The curls from a piece of discarded classic “wrought iron” furniture suggested to me an organic plant-like shape.
I cut them from the found object, and designed this sculpture. I wanted it to be light weight and medium sized.
I looked in my bone yard for a wide light-weight circular piece to use for stable support as a base.
I built a vertical support up from the base, and arranged the curled pieces along that.
I like the way that the interest-areas are fully around the sculpture, that space is seen between verticals.
The glass accent on the top gives it an elegant, formal look.
This unique creation can hold forth equally well inside or out in a garden setting. |
