This piece is about creating sacred peaceful space.
I like it in the plantings.
The arch gives a feeling of shelter, a flexible cover letting in light, air rain and containing a reflective focus of light play.
I designed this sculpture to be simple and light weight. Loving that curve, I started with the arch. I used the last of my treasure of interlocking conveyer belt rods, (from 2004).
I am very fond of repeating patterns. It was an added pleasure to be able to get a unified flowing line with multiple parts, for the central element.
The use of materials connects various sculptures. There is a feeling of a sculptural relationship or kinship in a series. On my website, you can see different uses of these rods in (Sold) Curvaceous Accents & Cobalt Jewel and (Medium) Totem of Cycles & Lofty Spiral. |
