This is about color, shape and changing point of view. A couple who love art gave me these two blue“found objects”. As it often is with very special & extraordinary treasures, I didn’t want to prematurely “spend” them. Over time, I tried many different matches and possibilities from my boneyard.
I finally designed a wide light-weight base for stability and unobtrusiveness. I welded it and added two vertical poles.
The featured pieces are mounted on poles that fit over the anchored ones. They slid off and on to alter the direction of the arcs: toward, away, front, back and opposing each other.
The result is a very simple sculpture that allows the owner to be playful with its display and orientation.
Years later, I added a small circle to each pole. I like this accent to the strong, unique creation for the garden. |
