I have an affinity for the shapely paddles that come from the inside of our water heaters. This set from ours, was very corroded. I know now : do not drink water from the hot tap !
I cleaned the blades with a grinder, and smoothed the edges. I made a simple decorative pole to use with the original bracket, allowing movement, without obstructing the view.
The compact weighty base was designed to balance the suspended blades and encourage the springiness of the pole.
This sculpture is easily transported in 3 units. The pole is removable from the compact base.
The sound when the two blades touch is distinct and deep. It could be used as a gong, as they rarely collide.
This unique creation is an attractive addition to the garden. |
