This piece started with the texture and shape of the upright cut. I extended this base for stability.
The sculpture developed interest front and back when I mounted the deep blue disc, backed with a light-weight shiny gear. Now both sides differed and drew interest. The two and a half aqua rings with the added curled twist extended the breadth and sense of volume.
I added the 3 rake tines for texture and more volume.
When I added the aluminum disk & trapped on the wonderfully shaped rake bracket, the dynamics changed.
I like these additions that expanded the width and unified the sculpture.
Interesting how far the design came from its initial focus.
I like the energy of this unique composition.
