This whimsical assemblage began with the coming-together of the “Y”-shaped piece, the blue lid and the propeller.
They were carefully joined, with attention to weighting, stability,
and aesthetics. I hid the complicated inner structure, to keep its lines simple. This involved some tricky welding.
The creative process of engineering the adornments to the basic structure was my very favorite part.
I knew I wanted the drilled pen tops to be prominate.
I was delighted to work out a method to incorporate them with some movement.
When I added the hand mixer, it extended the height and capped the structure with some frivolity.
The completed whole is quite engaging and fun. |
