The bulbs were the initial focus for this piece.
I designed the base and main support, and then went to work on the fun accents.
Initially, the light bulbs were vintage blue flash bulbs. These proved to be very fragile. The set of bulbs now epoxied in the sockets are from a vintage chandelier.
The other decorative elements: film reel,disc, bearing race, propeller and tiny knob added to the whimsy of this delicate sculpture. It needs to be protected inside. |
