This is a happy union of two separate sculptures.
The top is accented, by sight and sound. I had drilled lids and copper-wired them loosely to the bracketed edges of the ring, to give it jingle. The added barrel hoop could move with the wind.
But Jingle needed height and a stable base. I joined a grill & a strong bsse.
I wanted simplicity of line.
This created a wind instrument as well as a visual sculpture. |
