| I make sculptural assemblage from my treasured collections of found objects.
This playful result involved the coming together of discarded, weathered & worn: freestanding metal hat rack, some colored metal caps & bits of colored plastic. I joined these disparate parts mostly with wire, lots of drilling and some epoxy.
I spent a majority of my time playing with ways to make eye pleasing, interesting chains of color to hang from the “hats”.
The engineering parts of HOW to join all this was a fun challenge!
This sculpture is fully engaging on all sides, a composition that energizes the space it inhabits. |
