This is an attractive abstract sculpture. I love adding colored glass to a metal sculpture.

I began to build this sculpture by arranging and welding the chrome plated steel supports on a small circle. I selected a motorcycle disc as a supportively wide base. I welded the central support tube to the base, and the circular arrangement to the top of the tube. I searched for a shape to hold the glass ball. Amazingly, I found the perfect fit. I welded this in place at the center of the arrangement. I sealed the glass into the holder with silicone glue. No water must get into the holder.

I named it for the look of the arrangement: a crown with a jewel.

This unique creation brings these elements together in an elegant, graceful sculpture that can live outside or in.
