What do a jack stand, door knobs, candle snuffers, and lamp parts, have in common ? They were waiting in my boneyard to come together in all their contrasting lines, finishes and textures.

The result is this playful arabesque sculpture.

One of the interesting issues in making this sculpture is how to join dissimilar metals. There are brass, copper, steel, aluminum and even some unknown sort of plastic. There was a happy match of the knobs and the ends of the copper tube. My old favorite of trapping an object with steel, which I can shape and weld was important to making the base. I also used epoxy putty, another favorite method for unlikely joining.

I like the unusual, fun look this piece has.
