This collection of steel and copper plays with circles and vertical rectangles. I like the vivid contrast of rust and shiny copper, the accents of green and blue.
Circularity is explored with the doubled circle of thin rusted patterned steel with a wire ring. This has a sense of texture.
The contrasting copper foil backing highlights this pattern.
There is a connection with the copper elements. Another compositional connection is with the many circular pieces: silver- looking disc, brass ring and tiny tin dish.
The polished strips, 54, are the only elements that do not “leave” the edge of the panel.
Simple elegance!
